Breaking down this degree
This course leads to two separate degrees. Depending on your specialisation, you’ll graduate with a Bachelor of Arts and either the:
- Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Primary Education
- Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Secondary Education
Specialise in primary education and you’ll be able to teach across the school curriculum, with particular expertise in one or two fields. Specialise in secondary education and you’ll qualify as a subject specialist teacher in two secondary areas.

- All primary and secondary education specialisations are accredited by the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) using national accreditation standards.
- This means your qualification will be accepted in Victoria and all other Australian states and territories.
