Embedding Research Use in Educational Practice

This course is for teachers, school leaders and educators who want to be supported through the process of using research to address a particular issue to transform their practice.

Through a 15 hour professional learning program consisting of webinars, coaching and self-guided modules, participants undertake a project by applying research to a particular issue in their school or organisation over the course of a semester. Participants will be required to present their projects in the final webinar to the other participants.

The course materials include the QURE assessment tool to reflect upon research use; case studies from teachers who have implemented a research-informed change in their schools; and scaffolded guidance and coaching to address the practice problem using research.

The program was developed from the Monash Q Project, a five-year investigation in partnership with the Paul Ramsay Foundation to understand and improve the use of research in Australian schools.
