Under the National Quality Framework, 50% of educators required to meet the relevant ratios in a centre based service working with children preschool age and under, must have or be actively working towards an approved Diploma level education and care qualification.
All other educators required to meet the relevant ratios at the service must have or be actively working towards an approved Certificate III level education and care qualification.

The course will cover subjects in:

  • Providing care for babies, toddlers and children
  • Health and safety in the workplace and of children
  • First Aid
  • Learn about the approved learning framework to guide practice
  • Support children in their behaviour, learning development and connecting with their world

After successfully completing the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care course, students will be equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to support the implementation of an approved learning framework and support children’s wellbeing, learning and development. Depending on the setting, educators may work under direct supervision or autonomously.
