Graduate Diploma in Building Information Modelling and Integrated Project Delivery
Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Integrated Project Delivery represent the future of the construction industry.
Developed in response to the challenge of lost productivity, budget blow-outs, time over-runs and waste that plagued major construction projects, IPD is a way of managing projects so that every member of the building team work collaboratively throughout the construction process.
The sharing of information between these team members is made easier by the growing use of BIM – a process of creating and managing information on a construction project whereby every aspect of the build asset has a digital description that becomes part of the ‘model’.
Bond’s Graduate Diploma in Building Information Modelling and Integrated Project Delivery is a cutting-edge program which has been designed in close collaboration with industry, align with the frameworks and standards of the industry’s leading professional bodies in Australia, the UK and the USA, to prepare graduates for leadership roles in consultancies, client organisations and contracting organisations.
The Graduate Diploma is part of an articulated pathway; with a recognised degree qualification available after completing 4 coursework subjects - or the eight microcredential modules available, presented as a professional short course - (Graduate Certificate), an additional four coursework subjects (Graduate Diploma) and a final 40 credit point capstone project (Masters – 120 credit points).
This cutting edge program has been designed in strong collaboration with industry to assist construction and other built environment professionals to upskill in order to comply with the stringent practice requirements being demanded by government and knowledgeable private sector clients regarding the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM), Lean Construction Practice (Lean) and Integrated Project delivery (IPD) in optimised construction project delivery.
The Graduate Diploma in Building Information Modelling and Integrated Project Delivery program prepares students for productive application of their comprehension of relevant BIM/Lean/IPD knowledge in the work environment, for the benefit of projects and their stakeholders.
The program is delivered in intensive mode and has the objective of preparing industry professionals to serve as BIM/Lean/IPD managers. While the course does cover various BIM-related technologies, it does not prepare students to be specialist technicians in the niche areas of the technologies covered by the curriculum.
The program components align with the BIM Framework of buildingSMART Australasia, the open standards of buildingSMART International, the principles espoused by the Lean Construction Institutes of Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, and internationally recognised principles of IPD
