Doctor of Medicine
The Doctor of Medicine (MD) aims to produce knowledgable, caring and competent graduates who are well prepared to commence vocational training in any area of medicine. The MD is a four-year degree, with each academic year being approximately 42 weeks in length. It is offered only as a full-time degree and uses a combination of face-to-face teaching and learning sessions, clinical placements, blended and online learning, and self-directed learning. Teaching and learning happens at either of three campuses (UOW Wollongong, UOW Shoalhaven and UOW Southern Highlands) and one of eight rural hubs.
