Master of Environmental Management
We are Australia's first transdisciplinary sustainability master’s degree and the country’s most innovative. We established the program in 1992 and comprehensively revitalised it in 2021, unveiling cutting-edge coursework that tackles the social, cultural, and structural gaps found in most high-level sustainability education around the world. Our graduates learn to think outside the box, work critically, creatively and ethically across diverse knowledge systems and courageously reimagine what is possible.
This program teaches you to think through the societal drivers that underpin today’s complex environmental challenges — and their solutions. Our innovative courses provide you with foundational conceptual frameworks and tools, as well as field-based and real-world experience. This will equip you with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to work reflexively and collaboratively in your chosen field of reparative change-making. You graduate empowered to communicate complex ideas, understand diverse perspectives and nurture social capacities to rethink and reshape our shared environmental futures.
UNSW’s Master of Environmental Management is two-year, full-time (or part-time equivalent) postgraduate degree that gives you the environment-and-society edge needed to become a paradigm-shifting sustainability leader. You may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning, through either previous professional or educational experience, which can allow you to complete your degree in considerably less time.
