Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Environmental Engineering)

Overview

  • Our lecturers will provide you with the first-class knowledge and skills to study and change the effects of major environmental issues, as well as work in some of the most influential environmental sectors.
  • Plan, design and implement change in the infrastructure of land development and rehabilitation, water and soil management and create innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Apply your knowledge through practical work experience and an exciting final year research project that will give you hands-on industry experience. Previous students have produced projects in the fields of an investigation into obtaining energy for abattoir wastewater, the revised field procedure for surface irrigation evaluation and the ranking of potential emissions reducing technologies for businesses.
  • Diversify your skillset and combine your major studies in Environmental Engineering with a four-unit minor in Management, Climatology, Data Management or Geographic Information Systems.

Professional accreditation

When you graduate with your Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), you will be eligible to apply for membership with Engineers Australia as a graduate Professional Engineer. With the experience you will gain from working in the field, you may apply for chartered status as a Professional Engineer. You will also have the opportunity to work overseas, with your accreditation recognised in those countries that are signatories to the Washington Accord.
