Students get the opportunity to undertake a paid internship with IBM or Kyndryl. You will develop relationships and establish networks for future employment or mentorships. Our close partnership with IBM® was recognised with the Award for Excellence in Student Engagement at the Engagement Australia 2020 Excellence Awards. 
This degree is Australian Computer Society (ACS) accredited.

Our Bachelor of Information Technology (Professional Practice) has been developed alongside global industry leaders IBM® and Kyndryl to provide students with real-world, practical learning opportunities and skills. 
As an IT (PP) student, you will access hands-on placements (1600 hours) with these industry-leading organisations as a paid internship worth more than $47,000. This Co-operative Learning Model opportunity will not only prepare you for a career in IT but develop transferable skills that translate to the industry as a whole. Critical thinking, leadership, digital literacy, interpersonal skills and entrepreneurship are all embedded in individual courses tailored to emerging and current industry trends.

Course Structure
You may complete this course in the recommended structure of three years plus a summer or complete it in four years without summer enrolments. To help you balance your study load, subjects are offered across semester 1 and 2 as well as throughout summer. 
Core subjects are offered in first year to help you build a strong foundation in information technology, in addition to the required technical and problem-solving skills. In second and third year, you may pursue an interest area in either software development or cloud and mainframe.
Our unique program is designed to ensure you are industry ready when you graduate as an ACS-accredited professional and may lead to employment at IBM®*, Kyndryl or another of our industry sponsors.
*Students must meet graduate recruitment requirements and be eligible to work in Australia.
You will need to have an interview with our course coordinator as part of the selection process.
