PRIMARY SURVEY - INITIAL ASSESSMENT AND MANAGEMENT
This online micro-credential introduces the key aspects of the primary survey and identifies fundamental management interventions in the context of an emergency department presentation. The objective of the Primary Survey is to identify all life-threatening injuries and conditions and to initiate resuscitation/treatment immediately. The Primary Survey is a structured, systematic process conducted on all clients that present to critical care areas. However, it can be applied to any context within the healthcare system.
