The Bachelor of Accounting provides you with a degree that is accredited by CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and meets the associate membership requirements of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA). Graduates are also eligible to join the Association of Taxation and Management Accountants at the member level.
The course is designed to give you the flexibility to tailor your studies and extend your knowledge of complementary discipline areas with options to choose minor studies in areas such as coding foundations, criminology, cyber security, innovation, and public practice. This wider perspective will enhance your career opportunities by reflecting the skills, knowledge and experience needed for a career in accounting. The course also has a strong focus on problem-solving, enabling you to communicate effectively when you enter the workforce, a skill that is highly desired by employers.
You will also have the option to complete an internship in your final term, enabling you to gain practical experience and further enhance your employability.

Course structure
You are required to complete a total of 24 units including 16 core units, and an eight-unit major. You can choose a major in Entrepreneurship and Accounting, Management or Marketing. You may choose to complete two four-unit minors in coding foundations, criminology fundamentals, introduction to cyber security, marketing, innovation, public practice or liberal studies rather than an eight-unit major.

Majors and Minors
Management, Entrepreneurship and Accounting major
This major will support your Bachelor's if you are interested in a management or entrepreneurial career. It provides a grounding in modern management skills and knowledge. Plus, advanced management accounting knowledge is added to this major to provide a compelling skill set for a diverse career in accounting and management.
Marketing major
Excel with a versatile skillset valued across all industries as you learn to successfully connect with customers and implement demand-generation marketing activities. You'll explore consumer behaviour and the broader marketing mix plus, examine the importance of digital integration. To complement your skills in delivering creative strategies, you'll also perform market research, to understand insights and analytics to inform marketing decision-making.
Multi-disciplinary major
The Multi-Disciplinary major is available if you already hold an approved AQF Level 7 degree and wish to gain credit for that degree. Approval from the Head of Course is required to access this major.
Coding Foundations minor
The Coding Foundations minor is perfect if you want the ability to design and create software applications, or apps to attain a career in financial technology (FinTech).
Criminology Fundamentals minor
This minor builds your knowledge of criminology theory, and analytical skills and tools to examine data, social behaviour and legislation within the criminal justice system.
Innovation The Innovation minor provides arms you with the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills to digitally disrupt traditional business with new ideas and market space.
Introduction to Cyber Security minor
This minor introduces you to the skills needed to detect and prevent different types of cyber security attacks and the information, networks and systems at risk.
Liberal Studies minor

Marketing minor
Tailor your studies with this minor for insight into the value of marketing fundamentals. You'll explore consumer behaviour, product development and branding, marketing communication and digital marketing concepts.
Public Practice minor
The Public Practice minor is if you want to apply for Taxation Practitioners Board accreditation and develop a career in a public accounting practice.

Professional Practice - Institute of Public Accountants (IPA)
Core
The Bachelor of Accounting provides you with a degree that is accredited by CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and meets the associate membership requirements of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA). If you choose LAWS19034 and PROP12002, you may also be eligible to apply for registration with the Tax Practitioners Board (after meeting the Board's requirements for practical experience). Graduates are also eligible to join the Association of Taxation and Management Accountants at the member level.
The Financial Planning major is an approved qualification to attain a professional designation in financial planning as per the Corporations (Relevant Providers Degrees, Qualifications and Courses Standard) Determination 2021.
As well as providing you with an accredited accounting degree, you also have the opportunity of completing a major (or one or two minors) from a number of other business and non-business disciplines.
