- Blended learning: Flexible online learning combined with two-week intensive campus blocks including midwifery practice experience, face-to-face workshops, and simulated practice under the direction of Practice Lecturers. Approximately 70% of face-to-face sessions are offered at both the Gold Coast and Logan campuses.
- Student-led midwifery clinic: Access Australia's first innovative university-based student-led midwifery clinic at the Gold Coast campus.
- Placements: Gain hands-on experience through placements at top hospitals and clinics including Logan Hospital (including Beaudesert), Redlands Hospital, Gold Coast University Hospital, Toowoomba Hospital, Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Northern NSW Local Health District, and midwifery private practices. International placements are also available.
- Professional practice: In addition to placement, you'll apply skills in clinical learning labs, supported by registered midwives in diverse healthcare settings across morning, evening, and night shifts.
- Continuum of care: Provide advice, support and care for at least 20 women throughout pregnancy, labour and birth and postnatal periods, requiring you to be on-call for labour and birth. This unique learning experience is highly valued by students and graduates and requires a high level of commitment and flexibility.
