You’ll gain a firm foundational knowledge in the molecular and cellular aspects of biology and the principles of drug action. In addition to learning theory, you’ll gain practical hands-on experience in the labs in our new £18.2 million facilities.

You’ll also be gaining real-world experience by participating in a compulsory and supervised research placement in your area of interest, available after your second year. The skills you’ll gain on the research placement year will go a long way in your post-graduation plans.
This course has advanced accreditation by the Royal Society of Biology, reflecting the compulsory placement year in research and allowing you to apply for associate membership upon completion. This opens the door to networking opportunities when it’s time to apply for jobs.
