Drug Discovery and Business Strategy MSc

About the course

You will learn the processes involved in discovering and developing a new drug and incorporated business strategies.You will study various analytical techniques and tools employed in drug discovery and, after completion of the course, will be expected to have the skills needed to start up new businesses offering specialised services in drug discovery or join drug discovery teams within the pharmaceutical industry.

Course detail

This course is offered on a modular basis. The course will take one year full-time, starting September, and will comprise two standard terms for most of the modules.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements for this course are normally:

  • Minimum of 2:2 UK honours degree or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry or other biological sciences such as biochemistry, pharmacology and physiology with adequate English proficiency.

If your first language is not English, you will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum of IELTS is 6.0 overall with no less than 6.0 in reading and writing, or equivalent. The University of Huddersfield's Business School is an official Higher Education Partner of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and you have the opportunity to gain an additional professional qualification from the CMI during your MSc at the University of Huddersfield. Currently, our students can qualify for the CMI's Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice in addition to their MSc award from the University of Huddersfield after successfully completing the course.
