The aim of the programme is to enhance nurses’ evidence based knowledge, skills and competencies for the challenges of supporting individuals experiencing acute or chronic conditions of the respiratory system.

 

This programme offers registered nurses an opportunity to engage in evidence-based, patient centred, and responsive respiratory care. This care spans a continuum from health promotion, risk reduction, and self -management to proactive assessment, monitoring, and the management of the individual with critical needs.

 

Nurses undertaking this programme will critically examine the assessment and management of respiratory disorders within the context of their own practice so that they can provide timely, optimal, collaborative, and compassionate care to enhance client outcomes and improve quality of life.
