This programme aims to increase the knowledge, skills and competence of nurses caring for older people enabling them to recognise and respond to the deteriorating health and/or change in functional status of the person in a timely and proactive manner. 

 

Graduates of this programme will demonstrate knowledge of the contemporary approaches to care of the older person.  This will include assessing, monitoring, and managing individuals with acute and chronic diseases and disorders in a variety of health care settings.

 

The programme will develop registered nurses ongoing competencies and will encourage an ethos of lifelong learning.
