Our Advanced Aesthetics program was developed to prepare students with knowledge in skin care and human anatomy, nutrition, and the importance of bacteriology and decontamination to both the aesthetician and client. Students will gain skills and experience in a variety of services, including nail technology, skin care, manicures and pedicures, make-up artistry, body treatments, and facials. An understanding of business management skills for salons and spas, along with basic computer skills, will also be covered. This program meets all Ministry of Colleges and Universities Ontario Program Standards for Aesthetics.

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS GAINED

The program is designed to develop expertise over a wide variety of areas. Students learn about anatomy, physiology, and terminology for the aesthetics field. Students practice best practice guidelines for sanitation and infection control according to industry standards and regulations. Students perform a variety of specialized skin and body care treatments being aware of procedure, room preparation, contraindications, safety precautions and maintaining client comfort and modesty. Students perform many treatments like facials, body treatments, cosmetic massages, manicures, pedicures, make-up applications, lash and brow enhancements, and hair removal and waxing.
