Anishnaabemowin and Program Development Ontario College Diploma program

Students acquire Anishnaabemowin skills to develop and implement sustainable language programs in Indigenous communities and organizations.  Students practice their speaking skills through interactions in the classroom, language immersion labs, community interactions, and through immersive Virtual Reality (VR) technology activities. The history of Anishnaabemowin and current issues affecting revitalization and preservation are also studied. Incorporating the Anishnaabe world-view, students examine the role and importance of Anishnaabemowin in ceremony, cultural values, and community.
