Teacher Education â Concurrent Education
Brock’s Concurrent Teacher Education program is for students who are passionate about learning and the profession of teaching. Pursue an undergraduate Honours degree and a Bachelor of Education at the same time.
Students experience a vibrant curriculum of study for the Primary/Junior (grades K-6), Junior/Intermediate (grades 4-10, emphasis on grades 4-8) or the Intermediate/Senior (grades 7-12) levels. Read more about our Concurrent Teacher Education programs below.
The Concurrent Teacher Education Program offers students who are beginning their university studies, and wish to pursue a career in teaching, an opportunity to complete the Teacher Education Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree program (leading to an Ontario Certificate of Qualification and Registration — OQR) while earning their undergraduate degree. Teacher candidates develop teaching-related skills, and gain knowledge and experience throughout their program. Students experience a vibrant curriculum of study for the Primary/Junior (grades K-6), Junior/Intermediate (grades 4-10, emphasis on grades 4-8) or the Intermediate/Senior (grades 7-12) levels. Brock’s Concurrent Teacher Education programs are six years in length. Upon successful completion of the program, teacher candidates are normally recommended to the Ontario College of Teachers for membership and to receive their Ontario Certificate of Qualification.
