Visa Requirements for International Students (Non-EU/EEA)
If you are from outside the EU/EEA:
- You must typically obtain a German student visa (Type D) and then a residence permit for study.
- Visa requirements generally include proof of admission, sufficient funds, health insurance, passport, and accommodation.
- Apply at the German embassy/consulate in your home country at least 3–4 months prior to your intended start date.
- German visas usually allow part-time work during studies and a post-study job search period (subject to immigration rules).
Important: Visa decisions are made by German authorities. SRH can assist with invitation letters but not visa approval.
