Minor in Mathematics
Course Requirements for the Minor in Mathematics
All undergraduate students (including those in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and the College of Business and Administration) with a major other than mathematics may earn a minor in mathematics by completing the following classes with a grade of C- or better:
- MATH 1401, Calculus I (four credits)
- MATH 2411, Calculus II (four credits)
- MATH 2421, Calculus III (four credits)
- Three additional MATH courses at the 3000 and above level excluding 3040, 4012, 4013, 4014, and 4015. At least six of these credits must be taken at University of Colorado Denver.
Be aware of no co-credit policies. Here is a non-exclusive list of our most common no co-credit policies: no co-credit between (1) 3800 and 4810, (2) 3195 and 3200, (3) 3195 and 3191, (4) 4387 and 4830.
Note: MATH 3511 and MATH 4830 (or MATH 5830) can be used as electives for the minor in MATH. (These two classes cannot be used as electives for the BS in MATH.)
For the slash-listed courses: (1) MATH 3440 / PHIL 3440, (2) MATH 4408 / CSCI 4408, (3) MATH 4650 / CSCI 4650, and (4) MATH 4660 / CSCI 4660, one can take either the MATH section or the slash-listed section of the course. Either one count towards the minor in MATH.
