Mechanical Engineering Master of Engineering

 

The CU Denver master of engineering in mechanical engineering is an interdisciplinary degree, enabling students to complete an integrated program of engineering and allied subjects related to the individual student’s goals or professional work. 

Students can combine advanced engineering course work with graduate-level non-engineering courses such as business administration, environmental sciences, social sciences, biological sciences or public administration.

Students in the master of engineering program may choose from three tracks of study.

  • General mechanical engineering
  • Mechanics
  • Thermal sciences 

Degree requirements

The master of engineering in mechanical engineering requires 30 credit hours of academic work consisting of the following:

  • At least 15 credit hours of graduate-level mechanical engineering courses
  • A maximum of 12 credit hours of coursework outside of engineering
  • 3 credit hours for a written report/final project

Prerequisite Coursework

Students without an undergraduate degree in engineering must consult with a mechanical engineering advisor about potential prerequisite coursework.
