EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAMSpecialization leading to a Education, M.Ed. degree. Thirty hours leading to a degree and principal licensure at eligible grade levels. INTRODUCTIONThe Cleveland State University Masters in Educational Leadership program is based on a conceptual framework of the Principal as a Visionary Leader. Graduates achieve outcomes reflecting deep knowledge of both theory and best practices of exemplary leadership in urban and suburban schools. Each course is aligned with national and state standards for educational leaders. Broad themes of equity, diversity, and social justice are embedded throughout the program. Graduates understand the significance of engaging with their communities as well as the critical importance of creating and sustaining school cultures that enhance teaching and learning. Coursework includes the study of leadership constructs, organizational finance and facilities management, education law, professional development, educational research, and leadership practicums in the field.
