DESCRIPTION

The BA program is designed to be a more flexible program for students who have a strong interest in film and media but may want to explore other options within the university, or who may want to chart their own course in the FMA curriculum. The BA program, as it develops, will offer a varied approach to the medium through theory, history and criticism, as well as screenwriting, non-fiction filmmaking, experimental and interactive forms.

WHAT SKILLS ARE DEVELOPED WITHIN THIS MAJOR?

Creative problem-solving, communication, collaboration, time-management, and storytelling aesthetics are some of the principle skills.

HOURS REQUIRED FOR DEGREE


Minimum hours required for degree: 120

Minimum hours required for major: 48

MAJOR-FIELD REQUIREMENTS


Students must maintain a 2.25 grade point average in FMA courses, and successfully complete 48 FMA credits to graduate with a BA in Film & Media Arts. Transfer students must complete a minimum of 30 FMA credits at CSU.

REQUIRED COURSES (42 CREDITS)


Students are required to complete the following:

REQUIRED CAPSTONE (3 CREDITS)


Students are required to complete 3 credits in the Capstone requirement. (Course may be repeated for a total of 6 credits.)

REQUIRED ELECTIVE (3 CREDITS)


Choose one required elective from the courses below. (FMA 401 must be taken twice to count as an elective and as the required capstone.):
