Certificate in Whakat? Te Reo (Introduction)
Programme Aim
The aim of this absolute beginner programme is to support the New Zealand Government aspiration to support 1 million people to be able to speak at least basic M?ori language. Learners will acquire rich understandings of over 60 new M?ori words and learn 20 new common sentence patterns through enjoyable activities. They will also learn about M?ori cultural, history and tikanga.

Entry Criteria
Entry is open to those over 18 years of age.
Applicants must submit an application form and may be interviewed to evaluate their needs.
Annual Programme Start Dates
Programme start dates: January, April, July and October of each year.
Programme Length:
The programme is 10 weeks full time face to face or 20 weeks part-time and online.
Induction & Orientation Programme:
This will be held a week before your programme starts to help you succeed and to understand the systems that will support your programme and the staff who will work with you. A graduation ceremony will follow programme completion.
Programme Delivery:
This programme is delivered through a full or part-time face to face or interactive online mode.
