New Zealand Diploma in Cybersecurity (Level 6)
More and more businesses are adopting networked tech solutions (eg cloud-based, Internet of Things) to produce significant efficiency gains. However, with these gains comes a greater exposure to risks around the confidentiality of business data and intelligence. As a result, cyber security professionals are increasingly in demand.
The New Zealand Diploma in Cybersecurity is one of the leading programmes of its kind in the country. It covers topics such as infrastructure, the basics of cybersecurity, methodology specifics, tools, technologies (such as cryptography), technical cybersecurity management, governance and standards.
In addition, the course will develop your critical technical and analytical skills and enhance your attention to detail. You’ll learn via classroom tutorials, online discussions and a work-integrated learning project which may involve an industry placement.
Academic Requirements
New Zealand Diploma in Information Technology Technical Support (Level 5)
- OR one of the following:
- New Zealand Diploma in Information Systems (Level 5)
- New Zealand Diploma in Software Development (Level 6)
- You have completed the first year of an IT degree or have equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
Additional Requirements
Consent to Disclosure of Information:
- Successful applicants will be required to complete a New Zealand Police Consent to Disclosure of Information form.
- The form will be sent by Ara to the Police Licensing and Vetting Service, and returned in confidence to the Head of Department.
