Master of Urban and Regional Planning â MURPlan
A range of skills
If you dream of literally—physically—reshaping the world, the Master of Urban and Regional Planning is for you. In this interdisciplinary programme, you’ll learn how environmental, economic, and societal factors combine to influence the planning process.
Within a design framework, you’ll use scientific, social, and humanistic methods to develop broad-based solutions that benefit people and the environment.
Collaborative approach
You’ll be part of a collaborative community, sharing studio space with Architecture and Landscape Architecture students. We have a vibrant student and staff community that supports innovation by focusing on best practices and environmental and social responsibility. We nurture diversity and inclusion by embracing the differences of the people who make up our community of learners.
Professional accreditation
Subject to approval, the programme will meet the standards for accreditation with the New Zealand Planning Institute. After you graduate, you’ll need to work as an urban or regional planner for around three years before becoming a full member of the NZPI. Your qualification and registration will be recognised throughout New Zealand and internationally.
