NZ Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 4) Mandarin
The aim of the programme is to provide Mandarin-speaking students with the pre-requisite skills and knowledge to become competent early childhood kaiako for the early childhood sector. Students may be entering the ECE industry with no previous experience; or already working within the sector. The programme will also meet the needs of home-based educators who will be required to complete a level 4 qualification. It also provides a pathway to higher level study in the early childhood sector.
What you study
Our programme covers best practices and theory to apply to your work, including:
- (Te Marau) ECE4001 (Curriculum): (Te Whariki) Covers the ECE curriculum, Te Wh?riki.
- (Te M?tauranga) ECE4002 (Professional Knowledge): (Kaiako Learn about legislation, regulations and ethical aspects of ECE.
- (Whakaako Mokopuna) ECE4003 (Pedagogy): Review theories, philosophies and inclusive approaches in ECE.
- (Kia Whakah?ngai) ECE4004 (Practice): Put theory to practice in real life ECE environment, whether in a centre or a home-based setting.
In the last course of the programme you will undertake 64 hours or work placement. Work placement can be undertaken in a licensed home-based service, an ECE Centre, a kindergarten, or a community centre.
