Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Software Engineering

The Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Software Engineering is designed to develop highly skilled software engineers capable of designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining modern software systems. The programme combines strong theoretical foundations with extensive practical training in software engineering methodologies, programming, cloud computing, DevOps, artificial intelligence, software architecture, quality assurance, and project management.


Students gain practical experience through software development laboratories, real-world industry projects, collaborative learning, hackathons, innovation activities, and a compulsory 16-week Industrial Internship. The curriculum is aligned with Industry Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) and current global software development practices. Eligible students may also graduate under the APU–DMU Dual Degree Scheme, providing international recognition and improved career opportunities.

The Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Software Engineering continues to be offered as a 3-year full-time programme with 28 September 2026 and 24 November 2026 intakes.


Eligible students may graduate under the internationally recognised APU–DMU Dual Degree Scheme, receiving degree certificates from both Asia Pacific University (Malaysia) and De Montfort University (United Kingdom).


The programme continues to strengthen learning in Agile software development, cloud computing, DevOps, enterprise software engineering, software architecture, and modern software development practices. Students also complete a compulsory 16-week Industrial Internship to gain valuable professional experience before graduation.


Applicants without the required Mathematics background may be required to complete a Pre-Requisite Further Mathematics module during the first semester.

International students must obtain a Malaysian Student Pass before commencing their studies.
