The Bachelor in Interactive Media and Immersive Technology (Honours) with a Specialism in Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) is designed for students who want to become professionals in immersive technologies and interactive digital experiences. The programme combines multimedia, computer graphics, programming, animation, 3D modelling, user experience design, and immersive technology to prepare graduates for careers in rapidly growing industries.


Students gain practical experience in designing VR, AR, Mixed Reality (MR), and Extended Reality (XR) applications using industry-standard hardware and software. APU is the first university in Malaysia to establish an XR (Meta) Studio, equipped with technologies such as Microsoft HoloLens, Meta Quest (Oculus), HTC Vive, volumetric video capture systems, and other advanced immersive development tools. The curriculum emphasises project-based learning, portfolio development, innovation, and industry collaboration, preparing graduates for careers in gaming, healthcare, education, architecture, engineering, entertainment, tourism, retail, and the metaverse.
