Bachelor in Banking and Finance (Hons) with a specialism in Financial Technology

The Bachelor in Banking and Finance (Hons) with a Specialism in Financial Technology (FinTech) is designed to prepare students for careers at the intersection of banking, finance, and digital technology. APU was the first university in Malaysia to offer undergraduate FinTech programmes in 2018, making it a pioneer in FinTech education.


The programme combines traditional banking and finance knowledge with emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Digital Currencies, Python programming, Financial Technology applications, Data Analytics, and Digital Transformation. Students gain practical experience in banking technologies, digital financial services, crowdfunding, peer-to-peer lending, and financial innovation. The curriculum is aligned with Industry 4.0 and equips graduates with both financial expertise and technical competencies required by the rapidly evolving financial services industry. APU is also an Academic Partner of the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) Association, enhancing students' exposure to technical analysis and investment skills.

Visa Requirements

International students must obtain a Malaysian Student Pass (Student Visa) before commencing their studies.

  • Student Pass application through Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS).
  • Academic transcripts and certificates.
  • Proof of English language proficiency.
