Foundation Programme (Computing & Technology Route)

The Foundation Programme (Computing & Technology Route) is designed to provide students with a strong academic foundation for undergraduate studies in computing, information technology, software engineering, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, game development, immersive technology, and related disciplines.


The programme develops essential knowledge in mathematics, computing fundamentals, communication, programming, networking, multimedia, and academic research. Students also strengthen their leadership, teamwork, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and digital literacy skills. A dedicated academic mentoring system supports students throughout the programme, helping them transition smoothly from secondary education to university studies. Upon successful completion, students can progress directly to Year 1 of a wide range of APU degree programmes in Computing & Technology and related fields.

Latest Updates or Special Requirement (if any)

  • Current published intakes are 24 September 2026 and 20 November 2026.
  • The Foundation programme includes enhanced academic mentoring and personal development support.
  • Students without Additional Mathematics who intend to pursue selected Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Cyber Security, Data Analytics or Digital Forensics degrees are advised to complete the Computing & Technology Route or fulfil the Further Mathematics prerequisite.
  • Successful completion allows progression into a wide range of Computing & Technology bachelor's degree programmes at APU. 


Visa Requirements

International students must obtain a Malaysian Student Pass (Student Visa) before commencing their studies.

Typical requirements include:

  • Valid passport.
  • Official APU Offer Letter.
  • Acceptance of the admission offer.
  • Student Pass application through Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS).
  • Academic transcripts and certificates.
  • Proof of English language proficiency (where applicable).
  • Medical examination before and/or after arrival, as required by Malaysian authorities.
  • Passport-sized photographs.
  • Valid medical insurance.
  • Payment of Student Pass and visa processing fees.
