Visa Requirements for International Students
International students are generally required to:
- Receive an official Offer Letter from APU.
- Accept the admission offer and pay the required initial fees.
- Apply for a Malaysian Student Pass through Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) with APU's assistance.
- Submit passport copies, academic transcripts, English language test results, passport-sized photographs, and any other supporting documents.
- Complete the required medical examination before or after arrival in Malaysia.
- Obtain a valid Student Pass before commencing research.
Latest Updates (2026)
- 2026 intakes are available in August, September, October, November, and December.
- Students are encouraged to work with prospective supervisors to develop a suitable research proposal before formal enrolment.
- PhD candidates are expected to participate in research seminars, colloquia, and conferences throughout their candidature.
- For the PhD in Computing/Technology (ODL), students are required to publish at least one indexed journal article before the PhD can be awarded, alongside successful completion of the thesis and viva voce.
Special Requirements
Applicants should note:
- A relevant Master's degree is required for admission.
- Students are encouraged to identify a suitable supervisor and research topic before application.
- Regular research progress evaluations are mandatory.
