Latest Updates / Special Requirements

There are several important 2027 updates:

• 2027 applications closed at 11:59 pm on 15 September 2026.
• Places are limited and selection is required.
• Applicants must complete an internal school selection form for the 2027 intake.
• Community Psychology is no longer available for new enrolments from 2027.
• Applied Behaviour Analysis is the confirmed 2027 PGDipPracPsych pathway, with PSYCH551, PSYCH552 and PSYCH553.
• The programme requires ongoing relevant employment, paid or unpaid, providing an opportunity for practice in the relevant area.
• Police vetting is part of the selection process.
• Applicants must satisfy the requirements relating to the Vulnerable Children's Act 2014 and Vaccinations for Health Care Workers Policy.
• Before an unconditional offer is issued, students must meet further New Zealand Psychologists Board requirements, including evidence of intern psychologist registration and a current intern practising certificate.
• The NZ Psychologists Board requires psychologists to hold a current practising certificate to practise lawfully in New Zealand.
• For applicants whose first language is not English and whose qualifications were not completed in English in the specified countries, the Board's current English standard is IELTS Academic 7.5 overall with no section below 7.0. 

International Student Visa Requirements

For an international student physically studying this full-time programme in New Zealand, the relevant visa will generally be the Fee Paying Student Visa.
