It is designed for registered health professionals who wish to transition into the midwifery profession through an intensive two-year programme combining academic study with extensive supervised clinical experience.

Graduates who successfully complete the programme become eligible to apply for registration with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand and can enter a graduate midwifery support programme, subject to meeting all regulatory requirements.

Since the programme is currently unavailable to international students, AUT is not accepting international student enrolments, and a New Zealand Student Visa cannot presently be obtained for this qualification.
