The Doctor of Education (EdD) at AUT is a practice-led doctoral programme designed for experienced educators, leaders, practitioners, and researchers who want to create new knowledge through professional practice, creative inquiry, and educational research. The qualification is academically equivalent in standard to a PhD but has a stronger emphasis on professional practice and applied educational innovation

Programme Structure
The Doctor of Education consists of two major components:
1. Research Portfolio (Coursework Phase)
Students complete four sequential 30-point research portfolio courses over two years part-time.
