Certificate in Science and Technology Level 4
The Certificate in Science and Technology is designed as a university preparation programme for students who wish to develop the academic knowledge and study skills needed for bachelor's degree study in engineering, computing, mathematics, and related disciplines.
Students build a strong foundation in mathematics, programming, physics, problem-solving, academic writing, and critical thinking while becoming familiar with university learning.

Students complete 120 points consisting of:

Instead, successful graduates can progress to bachelor's degree programmes such as:

Special Requirements
- Students should choose courses that match the entry requirements of their intended bachelor's degree.
- Engineering pathway students are encouraged to complete mathematics and physics courses.
- Academic advising is provided before course enrolment.
Student Visa Requirements
Since the programme is currently not offered to international students, AUT generally does not issue Offers of Place for international applicants to this qualification.
If AUT reopens international enrolments in the future, applicants would normally require:
- A New Zealand Fee Paying Student Visa
- Offer of Place from AUT
- Valid passport
- Proof of sufficient tuition and living funds
- Medical examination (if required)
- Police clearance (where applicable)
- Approved health and travel insurance
- Proof of English language proficiency
