Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec)
Wintec, officially known as Waikato Institute of Technology, is a major vocational and applied education institution located in Hamilton, New Zealand. Established in 1968, it has grown into one of New Zealand’s largest institutes of technology, providing practical, industry-connected education across a wide range of fields.
Wintec is part of Te P?kenga | New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology — although ongoing governance changes mean regional autonomy will continue evolving through 2026.
Each year Wintec welcomes around 850 international students from 30+ countries, making it a diverse and multicultural study environment.
