General English Worldwide School’s general English classes are split into up to nine levels based on the Common European Framework, and are suitable for anyone from absolute beginners to advanced-level students. Our classes are designed to be dynamic and encourage student participation at all levels. Utilizing a variety of texts and interactive materials, morning classes cover the four basic language skills; reading, writing, listening and speaking. The classes help students develop a better understanding of the complexities of grammar, build their knowledge of vocabulary and idiomatic expressions, and better understand nuance. The afternoon classes offer students the opportunity to explore other aspects of English language learning. Classes focusing on communicative skills, pronunciation or writing skills are on offer, as well as classes for English in the context of business or work in the travel or hospitality sectors, and exam skills. Students may enroll to start at the beginning of any week during the year, with the exception of Christmas and New Year and can study for as few or as many weeks as they require.

Academic English Educational institutions, employers, professional registration bodies, and government immigration agencies often require proof of English language skills as part of their recruitment or admission procedures. Worldwide School of English offers exam preparation courses in two of the most recognised international English language exams – Cambridge and IELTS. B2 First/C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency 20 hours per week – Morning and Afternoon Our Cambridge exam preparation courses are specifically for students wishing to obtain any of the following certificates: B2 First, C1 Advanced, or C2 Proficiency (formerly known as FCE, CAE and CPE). Classes focus on skills practice for reading, writing, listening and speaking as well as topic-based vocabulary and grammar work. Students receive individual feedback on their writing. The courses are full-time, and there are three intakes per year. The courses are between 10 and 12 weeks, depending on which course you join. Academic IELTS 20 hours per week – Morning and Afternoon Our Academic IELTS classes help students develop the skills required to improve their exam scores. Students learn how to write reports and essays, and develop their vocabulary for a variety of academic topics. They are taught techniques for reading and listening more effectively, and how to better express themselves while speaking. The course is divided into 6-week blocks. There are three levels, with each level taking 12 weeks to complete. Students who are accepted into the course can start at the beginning of any 6-week block. Students are required to sit a pre-test before taking the course to determine their correct class. This pre-test is normally taken at school, but is also available to be taken online for students off-shore. The courses are full-time and are open to students at intermediate level and above. Students whose English does not meet the required level are encouraged to join a general English class before entering the IELTS courses. TOEIC 6.5 hours per week – Afternoon Our TOEIC afternoon preparation course is designed to enhance your English proficiency and TOEIC test-taking skills. You’ll learn from experienced teachers who have an excellent knowledge of the TOEIC exam format, use official ETS TOEIC preparation materials, engage in targeted practice tests and exercises covering all sections of the exam. With a flexible schedule and a supportive learning environment, this course is tailored to help you achieve your desired TOEIC score. It is a 6-week afternoon course.
