-
Accredited as a Category 1 provider by New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) which signals high standards of teaching and student support.
-
The school specialises in English language courses for adult international students, as well as teacher-training courses (CELTA/DELTA).
Why choose Languages International?
-
Strong heritage & reputation: Having operated since 1978, the school has long experience with international students and English-language education.
-
Prime central campus location: Studying at the school places you right in Auckland’s city-centre, near major universities, cafes, transport – making it easier to integrate.
-
Small class sizes & personalised support: Max class size around 14 (some exam/prep classes even smaller) which allows more individualized attention.
-
Wide range of course choices and pathways: If your goal is to improve English for university study, business, exams or general fluency, this school covers those needs.
-
Excellent student services: They provide multilingual counselling, accommodation arrangement services, learning-centre access and social programmes.
University ranking / reputation context
-
As a specialised English language school (rather than a university), Languages International does not appear in global university ranking tables.
-
However, for English language training and pathway preparation it is well regarded: noted for academic standards, qualified teaching staff, and Category 1 status under NZQA – these are key indicators of quality in the NZ context.
-
If your goal is to transition into a degree programme at a university in NZ (or elsewhere), the school’s proximity to and alignment with university-entry courses is a plus.
Campus locations
-
Address (street): 27 Princes Street, Auckland 1010, Auckland Region, New Zealand.
-
Postal address: P.O. Box 5293, Victoria Street West, Auckland 1142, New Zealand.
-
The campus is described as occupying historic premises surrounded by Albert Park and easily accessible from the city centre.
-
Since the school primarily has the one central city campus, it benefits from being in a vibrant student area with good services, transport, and student accommodation options.
Types of courses (study levels)
Languages International offers a broad range of English-language courses including:
-
General English (GE): For improving overall fluency and accuracy; available at multiple levels and flexible start dates.
-
English for Business (EB): Focus on English used in business contexts (meetings, presentations, negotiations).
-
English for University (EU): Prepares students for academic study in university or tertiary institutions; also offers direct-entry pathway options.
-
Exam Preparation Courses: Including IELTS preparation, Cambridge exam preparation (B2 First, C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency) and OET (Occupational English Test) for healthcare professionals.
-
Teacher Training Courses: Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), DELTA (Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).
Mode of learning (onsite / e-learning / blended)
-
The primary mode is onsite (face-to-face) classroom teaching at the Auckland campus, with small class sizes and in-person support.
-
The website does not extensively emphasize online or fully remote modes (at least publicly). If you are overseas or prefer blended learning, you would need to check directly with the school whether they currently offer flexible/remote/online options.
-
Given the school’s strong emphasis on independent learning resources (Learning Centre) and student-guided study plans, there may be blended elements (classroom + independent study) though full online programme detail is less visible.
