1. APU International Students Scholarships & Merit AwardsThis is APU's main scholarship programme for international students. The scholarship provides tuition fee discounts based on outstanding academic performance achieved before joining the university.Scholarship BenefitsStudents may receive tuition fee discounts of 10%, 20%, or 30%, depending on their academic qualifications and results. The scholarship is renewable each academic year, provided the student meets the required academic performance. Scholarship AwardsFor A-Level Students AAA – 30% Tuition Fee Discount AAB – 20% Tuition Fee Discount ABB or AAC – 10% Tuition Fee Discount For O-Level / IGCSE Students 9 A's – 30% Tuition Fee Discount 8 A's – 20% Tuition Fee Discount 6–7 A's – 10% Tuition Fee Discount For International Baccalaureate (IB) Students 37 points – 30% Tuition Fee Discount 31–36 points – 20% Tuition Fee Discount 26–30 points – 10% Tuition Fee Discount2. Sports Excellence Merit AwardAPU recognises students who have represented their country or achieved success in international sporting events.Eligible sporting achievements may include participation in: Olympic Games Asian Games Commonwealth Games SEA Games Youth Olympics FIFA World Cup Other recognised international sporting competitions3. Postgraduate ScholarshipsInternational students applying for postgraduate studies at APU may also be eligible for postgraduate scholarships.These scholarships are available for selected: Master's by Coursework Master of Business Administration (MBA) Master's by Research Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Scholarship awards vary depending on: Previous academic qualifications Academic performance Programme selected Overall application assessmentEligibility RequirementsTo be considered for an APU International Scholarship, applicants generally must: Be a new international student applying to APU. Apply for an eligible Foundation, Diploma, Bachelor's or Postgraduate programme. Meet the academic entry requirements for the chosen programme. Meet the English language requirements set by APU. Submit a complete scholarship application together with all supporting documents. Receive an official Offer Letter from APU. Complete the admission process before the scholarship deadline.Requirements to Maintain the ScholarshipScholarships are generally awarded on a yearly basis and are renewable if students continue to meet APU's academic standards.To retain the scholarship, students must: Maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.50 at the end of each academic year. Successfully complete all assignments, projects, coursework, and examinations. Continue studying full-time in the approved programme.Scholarship Terms and ConditionsImportant conditions include: Scholarships are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The scholarship is open to applicants from all countries. Students are generally required to pay the Application and Processing Fee (RM 3,350) to secure their scholarship and admission. Scholarships apply only to studies undertaken at APU's Malaysia campus and do not apply to study at overseas partner universities. Accepted qualifications include: IELTS Academic TOEFL iBT PTE Academic MUET (where applicable) Other English qualifications recognised by APUScholarship Application Deadline According to the latest information published by APU, the International Students Scholarships & Merit Awards 2026 application deadline is 31 July 2026. As scholarships are limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, students are encouraged to apply as early as possible.Tips to Improve Your Scholarship ChancesTo maximise your chances of receiving an APU scholarship, applicants should: Achieve strong academic results before applying. Apply early, as scholarship places are limited. Submit complete and certified academic documents. Include forecast or predicted examination results if final results are not yet available. Highlight any outstanding sports or extracurricular achievements. Ensure all admission and English language requirements are met before enrolment.
